Harry Maguire can equal Manchester United appearance record vs Leicester

Manchester United are set for the ultimate test as they travel to face Leicester on the final day of the Premier League season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side go into the game knowing only a point is needed if they are to qualify for the Champions League next season, while Leicester need a win to qualify for the competition for only the second time in their history.

The match is set to be extra special for club captain Harry Maguire as he faces his former side and he could equal an incredible record in the process.

That is because the England international defender has not missed a single minute in the Premier League this season and could become the first United outfield player since Gary Pallister in 1994-95 to start every game in a Premier League campaign for the club.

Maguire has made a big impact since he signed for United last summer, and speaking ahead of the game Solskjaer praised his new captain.

“Obviously he’s had a rollercoaster of a season with us and he had a great spell at Leicester," Solskjaer told MUTV.

"He’s got feelings for Leicester so it’s a special game in one respect [for him] but then again it’s a game of football and I know how Harry focuses on the job at hand. He’ll leave all feelings to one side for 90 plus minutes.

"Harry is one of those who gets better the more he plays. He gets his sharpness, finds his bearings and he’s always reliable and it just shows why we wanted to sign Harry because we need reliable defenders."
