Harry Maguire and Fred to start - Manchester United predicted line-up vs Crystal Palace

Ralf Rangnick may only make two changes to his starting XI as he looks to end his time as Manchester United manager on a high.

It's been a tough six months in charge of United for Rangnick, but a victory over Crystal Palace on the final day of the season would at least end his stint in the hot seat on a happy note. Three points would also ensure the club secures qualification for the Europa League rather than suffer the ignominy of the Europa Conference League.

With there still being something to play for - regardless of how low the stakes may be, especially considering the optimistic aims for the season back in August - it's difficult to see the interim boss starting any of United's exciting youngsters in the match. The best the likes of Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez can hope for is a good amount of minutes from the bench.

Sadly, Alejandro Garnacho is likely to miss out after missing training this week with illness following his heroics in the FA Youth Cup final. Jadon Sancho, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Phil Jones are also unavailable, so Rangnick is once again working with a depleted squad. As a result, he won't be able to make the wholesale changes that the 4-0 hammering at Brighton last time out deserves.

David de Gea will almost certainly start in goal and the only change to the defence in front of him could be the return of Harry Maguire. The captain made his comeback from injury as a late substitute at the Amex and could replace Victor Lindelof to partner Raphael Varane. Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot will likely continue at full-back.

Fred has also been feeling his way back from a hip injury that kept him out of action for four matches, having come off the bench in the last two games. The Brazilian may be handed a starting berth instead of Scott McTominay, with Nemanja Matic likely to start in his last match for the club.

Juan Mata may also start in what could be his final game in red, having played well from the off in the last two games despite bizarrely not starting a match all season beforehand in the league. Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Elanga could join him in attack along with Rashford after Ronaldo was ruled out.

Predicted Man United starting XI: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Telles; Fred, Matic; Elanga, Mata, Fernandes, Rashford.
