Harry Kane: Tottenham 'can score five every game' with Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon

Harry Kane spoke of his excitement at the signings of both Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon after helping Tottenham dismantle Southampton 5-2 at St Mary's Stadium.

The England captain scored one goal and assisted four more - all of which were scored by Heung-min Son - as the north London club earned their first Premier League win of the season.

After a disappointing opening day defeat to Everton, Tottenham were boosted by the high-profile incomings of Real Madrid pair Bale and Reguilon.

Though neither featured against Southampton, Kane believes the pair will add significant strength to a Tottenham squad already bursting with quality.

"It's great to have Sergio and Gareth with us," Kane told Sky Sports. "It's a busy schedule over the next couple of months and we're going to need the whole squad.

"Everyone knows Gareth, how good he is - the goals and assists he gets. We have great competition for places and I'm sure he'll be excited to get back out and play for Spurs.

"Hopefully we can score five most games and keep up the winning run."

Kane also insisted his link-up with Son was very much pre-meditated after the pair scored their 24th goal in which they've combined.

While Southampton were firmly on top in the first half, they simply couldn't cope with the attacking prowess of Tottenham's front line after the break, in particular the deadly duo of Kane and Son, who claimed his first-ever Premier League hat-trick.

"We spoke before the game, we knew there was going to be space behind," Kane added. "We spoke about Son getting behind if I drop deep and one of the passes I didn't even look - I just knew he'd be running behind.

"It's a connection we've been building up for a while now. It was nice to see him finishing it off and I'm proud of him for his first hat-trick."
