Harry Kane told Man Utd transfer is 'risky' after informing Tottenham he wants to leave

Wantaway Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been warned that a summer move to Manchester United will be a risky one.

Reports over the weekend revealed that the England captain has told Spurs he wants to leave when the transfer window opens after another trophyless season for the London club.

After enduring the underwhelming reign of Jose Mourinho, Spurs were dominated in Carabao Cup final by Manchester City – their best chance of picking up a first piece of silverware since 2008.

Kane has enjoyed yet another breath-taking season in front of goal and is well on track for an astonishing third Premier League golden boot award in four years.

As yet another campaign without a trophy comes to a close, Kane has now told club chief Daniel Levy that he wants to depart three years before the end of his contract.

Two of the frontrunners for his signature are Tottenham ’s Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United.

Both clubs will be in the market for a new striker this summer, but Kane has been warned by former England international Trevor Sinclair that a move to Old Trafford would carry some risk with it.

“I think if you’re Harry Kane and you definitely want silverware, I think there’s an argument to say you go to Manchester City,” Sinclair told talkSPORT.

“Because you look at the last few years, they’ve been winning everything. I think if you want the glory as well, but there’s a bit of risk involved, you pick Manchester United.

“Because obviously they’ve not won the Premier League for a long time.”

Sinclair also believes that the attraction of playing under Pep Guardiola is a major boost for City’s hopes of landing Kane.

“That’s an easy one for me, you pick Manchester City,” Sinclair said when asked which club he would choose to move to.

“Because you’re in a proven side, a side full of winners, who have got over the line and won silverware.

“I just feel, if you have the opportunity, if Pep comes calling, his reputation precedes him, he’s a manager that even me know, 13 years retired, I’d have loved to have played for Pep.”
