Tottenham legend Clive Allen is tipping Harry Kane to make the move to the NFL when he retires from football.
Allen is no stranger to American football having previously had a stint as a kicker for the London Monarchs in the 1990s.
While Kane has already been offered the chance to do what is believed to be a lifelong ambition and become an NFL kicker once he retires.
Morten Andersen, a member of the NFL's Hall of Fame, has offered to work with the Spurs captain when he hangs his boots.
The England international is a well-known New England Patriots fan and NFL lover, and Allen can see the Spurs icon changing sports once he chooses to retire.
“Former strikers are the ones that can do it well,” Allen told Starsport.
“Kane has a great interest in it and I wouldn’t be surprised if in years to come he’ll be kicking an NFL football.
“Knowing Kane - and having worked with him - I know all about his mentality and attitude.
“I’m sure he could adapt his style to do the job and I wouldn’t put it past him being very successful at it.
“It’s also not got the physical demands of soccer - kicking at least - so players can go on a little longer.”
Before Allen added: “The ball is not necessarily set perfectly when it’s snapped back to you, so you have to adjust - even in your run up.
“It’s a different technique, certainly from kicking a soccer ball.
“The NFL ball is remarkably light and deviates a lot.
“The kicking technique is straight leg, locked knee and pointed toe. And where you strike the ball is really important.
“It took quite a lot of practice and work for me to hone the skill and make it work.”
