It came as little surprise that Harry Kane opened his Premier League account on the opening day of the season on Saturday.
The Tottenham striker has previously struggled to find the back of the net in the month of August, but he ended that hoodoo with a goal against Fulham last season.
And he made sure there was no more talk of his August problems with two late goals as Spurs came back from a goal down to beat Aston Villa on Saturday.
But it was not just getting his new season's tally up and running for Kane, but adding to his Premier League total, too.
Kane has an incredible goalscoring record in England's top flight and his double at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were numbers 126 and 127 in the Premier League.
And those goals took Kane from joint 15th on the Premier League all-time goalscorers' list, up to 13th place.
He had shared 15th place with Nicolas Anelka, and move up into joint 14th with his first strike, before moving ahead of another Tottenham legend Robbie Keane with his second goal of the afternoon.
Kane will now have his sights set on making it into the top ten before the end of the season, and few would bet against him doing it.
The Spurs striker needs another 22 goals this season to go into joint tenth on the list, with 23 more goals taking him into joint ninth place.
He does have some way to go before he moves up one more place in the list though, and it is a former Arsenal player who will be looking over his shoulder at Kane now.
Robin van Persie is at 12 on the list, with 144 goals - 17 ahead of Kane.
