Harry Kane supporting Manchester City against Liverpool as Tottenham look to stay in title race

Harry Kane hopes Manchester City beat Liverpool in Thursday's Premier League showdown as Tottenham look in keep in touch with the title contenders.

Spurs sit second with 16 wins from 21 games but Liverpool's remarkable season sees him still six points clear as title favourites.

Reigning champions City after a point further back in third but Kane is happy to see them leapfrog Spurs on Thursday to hand Liverpool a first defeat of the season.

"We'd probably like City to win to make it a little bit closer, but that's not in our control," Kane said of the Etihad Stadium clash.

"All we can do is look after ourselves and win our games. Over the last few years we have been in this position with Leicester, and then Chelsea the year after.

"We just have to concentrate on ourselves and winning games is all we can do.

"We will see what happens with Liverpool and City. We can't think too much about other teams if I'm honest."
