Harry Kane slammed for ignorant approach to forcing transfer from Tottenham to Manchester City

Harry Kane and his representation have been slammed by former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan, amid attempts at trying to force a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane didn’t feature for the Lilywhites in their 1-0 win over City at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday due to fitness concerns, which started as a result of him returning late from his post-Euro 2020 holiday to the Bahamas.

He will also miss Thursday night’s Europa Conference League clash with Pacos de Ferreira.

football.london understands that it was agreed the 28-year-old would remain at Hotspur Way to work on his fitness as his Spurs team-mates flew out to Portugal.

Kane has been named in the squad for the Europa Conference League play-off legs against Pacos de Ferreira so will be able to take part next Thursday when the Portuguese outfit make the return trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Still, even though those measures suggest he could stay in north London, Kane wants a move to Manchester City, but Jordan thinks he’s gone about it in the wrong way.

“This whole debacle, including the statement, smack of stupidity, immaturity ignorance and arrogance by Harry Kane and his representation,” Jordan told talkSPORT.

“The stupidity is if you sign a contract which gives somebody control of your destiny for six years and you don’t put a release clause in there with a certain amount of money, then you’re not fit for purpose in the first place.

“If you want a transfer to happen, why are you on holiday? Get your backside back to where the business is and make sure you and your representation are over it, under it and across it to make sure that it happens.”

Jordan’s verdict didn’t end there, either, as he continued by explaining that the deal will be made on Spurs’ terms, and the club have every right to get the best possible deal for them.

“You’re getting a lesson in reality. You’re a player who’s contracted to Tottenham Hotspur and you will be sold by Tottenham Hotspur for the price that Tottenham Hotspur detail.

“This is wrapped in unprofessionalism, unrealism and a lack of understanding of the obligation you have upon you and how to get a deal done. It’s amateur hour and you cannot get a big deal done with amateurs.”

Kane is available for Spurs’ trip to Wolves on Sunday but there’s no telling whether he’ll play just yet.
