Harry Kane sends Tottenham fans first Instagram message since Antonio Conte appointment

Harry Kane sent Tottenham fans a message on social media after they defeated Vitesse 3-2 in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday night.

Spurs came flying out of the blocks in Antonio Conte's first match as head coach, netting three goals in the first 30 minutes through Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and an own goal from Danish defender Jacob Rasmussen.

The away side soon got back into the game, with Rasmussen and then Slovakian midfielder Matus Bero, leaving the scoreline at 3-2 at half-time.

Lillywhites centre-half Cristian Romero was then red-carded just before the hour mark, leaving Conte's side with ten men for the last 31 minutes, before Vitesse received two red cards of their own in the final ten minutes.

Eventually, the north London outfit held on to clinch all three points, sending them up to second place in their group, three points behind French outfit, Rennes who are unbeaten in the competition so far this season.

After the game, centre-forward Kane took to Instagram to comment on the intense fixture, admitting that it was a hard-fought three points for Spurs.

His post read: "An eventful 90 mins! Good to come away with the win and put ourselves in a stronger position in the group."

It was the first time that Kane has publicly posted since Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked on Monday morning, with Conte replacing him just over 24 hours later.

Tottenham fans left a mixture of comments under the England captain's picture. Here is what a select few had to say.

kaithughson said: "Great start to the Conté era."

willstewart said: "That’s it Harry. Get the team firing."
