Harry Kane sends message to Tottenham teammates as he looks set to miss Man City clash

Harry Kane has urged Tottenham to finish the job against Manchester City and claim a place in the Champions League semi-final.

The England captain has also vowed to “come back stronger” from the ankle ligament injury which forced him out of Tuesday night’s quarter-final first-leg win.

Son Heung Min netted the only goal in a 1-0 win for Tottenham against City.

Kane was set for an MRI scan on the injury, which threatens to rule him out for the rest of the season.

But the Tottenham striker is backing his team-mates to wrap up victory over City in the return clash at the Etihad Stadium on April 17.

Tottenham won five of those games, including all four Premier League matches and a 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Kane left White Hart Lane on crutches on Tuesday night with a protective boot on his left ankle.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said the injury was a "worry", adding he was worried Kane might not be back before the end of the campaign .

Kane slipped on Tuesday night as he tried to block Fabian Delph's clearance on the right touchline in the second half. He was substituted immediately.

Kane has been involved in 33% of Tottenham's goals this season, more than any other player, with 24 goals and six assists in all competitions.
