Tottenham Hotspur continued their perfect start to the Premier League season after a narrow 1-0 success at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.
Dele Alli's first-half penalty proved to be the difference between the two sides in a closely-fought encounter, as Nuno Espirito Santo returned to Molineux with a win.
After beating Manchester City, Spurs produced another determined performance to secure a second successive clean sheet and they are showing signs of progression under their new boss.
It was the same starting XI from the side who began the game against Pep Guardiola's men, as Son Heung-min continued in a central striker role, with Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn out wide.
However, there was a return for a familiar face on the bench, as Harry Kane returned to the Spurs squad for the first time since the final day of last season.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the club all summer, as speculation continues over a transfer to Manchester City before the end of the month.
Having been granted extra time off following his exploits with England at Euro 2020, Kane was back in first-team training just two days before Spurs' game against the Citizens.
He, however, was left out of that game, with Espirito Santo claiming that Kane was continuing to work back to full fitness on his own at the club's training ground.
But after also missing their Europa Conference tie at Pacos de Ferreria in mid-week, the forward was back in a Spurs shirt and came on for the final ten minutes at Molineux.
Kane was greeted with a positive reception by the Spurs fans despite his current situation and he also went over to applaud the travelling faithful at the final whistle.
After the match, the forward reacted to his cameo on his Twitter account, saying that it was a "brilliant battling win".
Espirito Santo also shared his thoughts on the win and wants the whole of the club to come together, including Kane, who looks like he will be staying this season.
"I think he did well, he helped the team," Nuno said.
"He had a good chance. Harry is still in the process of increasing and improving his level of fitness because he's one of the best players in the world.
"You could see the way he helped the team in terms of possession and the fine lines. We need everybody, we need everybody.
"He's better, he's better today. He has to work tomorrow and keep improving. You cannot put a bar on that. It's day-by-day. Every day he improves, he improves."
Spurs' second highest-ever goalscorer could be in contention to face the Pacos in the reserve European tie and the league match-up against Watford next weekend.
