Harry Kane's stance on Daniel Levy appointing Antonio Conte as new Tottenham boss

Harry Kane is believed to be very excited about working under Antonio Conte and the ambition shown by Tottenham's appointment of the Italian as head coach, football.london understands.

Signing an 18-month contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after missing out on him during the summer, there is now a feeling of excitement within the club of the pulling power of Conte in tandem with Fabio Paratici, resurrecting their former partnership at Juventus in the past.

After opting to name Nuno Espirito Santo as boss at the end of June, the Portuguese and his coaching staff were relieved of their duties on Monday morning following such a mixed start to the season.

Although Tottenham were only five points off the top four after ten games, the team's brand of football under Espirito Santo had been widely criticised with the side really struggling to make an impact in the final third.

Kane himself looked a shadow of his former self up front, with the 28-year-old only managing one goal from his nine Premier League appearances this season.

The England captain has scored a further six goals for the Lilywhites in Europe and the Carabao Cup but he's really struggled to make an impact in the league.

With Conte getting a lot of joy out of the attackers at his previous clubs, many believe the appointment of the Italian will work wonders for Kane's game.

football.london understands that the striker is absolutely thrilled by the club's successful attempt to lure Conte to N17 and he is among many members of the squad who are very excited to work under the 52-year-old.

The striker is also believed to be very happy by the ambition of the move, with the ex-Juventus boss seen as one of the best managers in the game.

The Tottenham players, including Kane, are believed to be excited about a return to the high energy, pressing and forward thinking football that Conte will bring.

Conte himself will be keen to get down to work with Tottenham's No.10 as he has praised him plenty of times in the past.

Speaking when working as a pundit at Euro 2020, he said: "Many praise Harry Kane for his ability to go get the ball and play with the team, such as with the equaliser against Denmark.

"But it’s in the box where he’s clinical and as a coach, I would always keep him in there because he’s devastating."

Having witnessed first hand just what he can do in the Premier League while he was manager of Chelsea, Conte labelled the frontman as the "complete striker".

“For me, Kane, now is one of the best strikers in the world," he stated. “If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker.”
