Harry Kane's injury could give Liverpool unexpected Premier League title race boost over Manchester City

Harry Kane limped off injured during Tottenham's 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

But many Liverpool fans are certain this won't hand Pep Guardiola's team a boost in the title race.

Man City will play host to Spurs in back-to-back games next week, both in the quarter-final second leg as well as in the Premier League.

On the opening day of the year Kane produced a Man of the Match performance in a 3-0 win against Cardiff.

Next up in the league was Manchester United, as Marcus Rashford scored the only of the game to seal a 1-0 victory.

The 25-year-old then sustained an ankle injury and missed the following four league games: Fulham, Watford, Newcastle United and Leicester City.

In those fixtures without Kane, Pochettino's side won four in a row.

On the striker's return, Spurs then went five league games without a win.

Heung-min Son scored the winner for the Londoners and is highly-rated among Liverpool fans.

One supporter wrote: "Spurs had more points when Kane's not around. Their key player now is Son."

While another said: "Son has done well when Kane isn’t playing."
