Harry Kane's infamous England training session with a rubber chicken inspires Scotland Women's team

It was sheer poultry in motion at Scotland's World Cup training camp this morning - as the squad were let loose with a rubber chicken.

Irvine ace Erin Cuthbert and her team-mates tossed the novelty toy around the pitch as part of an exercise session ahead of Friday's Group D match against Japan.

The bizarre sight brought back memories of an infamous session involving the England men's team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling were photographed doing a similar routine ahead of a semi final clash against Croatia.

England manager Gareth Southgate said it was just a bit of fun designed to get them moving in some of the mobility excercises.

Scotland go into the match against Japan on the back of a 2-1 defeat in their opening match against England.

Japan were held to a 0-0 draw against Australia in their opening game so a win for the Scots would boost their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the competition.
