Harry Kane has taken to Twitter to show his appreciation to two Tottenham supporting members of NHS staff amid the coronavirus breakout.
The virus has led to a lockdown in the UK, meaning that people can only leave their homes for exceptional reasons such as buying food or picking up medication.
The breakout has also meant that it is a busy time for staff working for the NHS as they try to keep control of the situation and to help the ill better again.
Because of this, the country came together on Thursday night in a collective round of applause for the workforce as a way of saying thank you for all of their hard work.
Acute medical consultant Domicin Cavlan wore his Spurs shirt under his scrubs as a way of bringing him good luck during his shift, something that was appreciated by Kane on Thursday evening.
“A bit of that applause was definitely for you. Keep up the amazing work,” he tweeted.
Now a second Spurs fan who works in the NHS has revealed that she is also wearing a Tottenham shirt in order to bring her good luck on her shift.
“Hope you had a good day Faye,” Kane replied. “You and the rest of the NHS staff are doing incredible work.”
Kane also encouraged youngsters to get in touch with their drawings of doctors, nurses and ambulances in order to show their appreciation for the work of the organisation at a difficult time.
The Tottenham striker could be back in action when the Premier League is scheduled to return at the start of May.
