Harry Kane reveals what he has changed to become Tottenham's assist machine after Burnley win

Harry Kane has revealed what he has changed about his game to become so good at providing assists.

The talisman provided his eighth assist of the Premier League season on Monday night to help Tottenham defeat Burnley, Son heung-min scoring the game's only goal after Kane's flick-on.

And remarkably, that makes it seven assists from Kane to Son alone, the two striking up a fine partnership at the top end of the pitch.

But just how has that partnership reached such heights this season? What has Kane changed about his game to become an assist machine, as well as a goalscorer?

In truth, he's not too sure, but it may well have something to do with dipping into deeper areas.

"I’m not too sure. This season, when I’ve been dropping a little bit deeper, he has been running in behind and that allows me to get some space, get my head up and play the passes through, maybe in recent years we haven’t been doing that," he told Sky Sports after the game.

"It’s one of them - when the confidence is high, they know if I get the ball and get turned they have a chance on goal.

"It was an important win tonight, a tough place to come but we are obviously happy,

"When the gaffer came in, he said early on that whenever I drop in, the wingers have to get in behind, there is no point in two or three players dropping deep.

"It’s something I have been doing in my game for a while but the final product is a bit better, the passing, the finishing, so it catches the eye a bit more but we take each game as it comes, each team brings something different so we try to adapt."

Speaking specifically about the assist against Burnley, Kane added: "It was one of them, it was an unusual assist, a flick-on from the back post and Sonny was there.

"When things are going your way, they fall to the right people and Sonny is on form at the moment, so it came to him and he put it away"
