Harry Kane puts timescale on possible transfer amid Manchester United and Man City interest

Harry Kane has hinted that a transfer away from Tottenham Hotspur could happen when his European Championship campaign with England is over.

The England captain is of interest to both Manchester United and Man City — as well as other clubs — after expressing a desire to move from Spurs to win more trophies.

MEN Sport understands United and City are interested in a possible swoop for the 27-year-old, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola both seeking new impetus up front.

Kane was impressive for Spurs in the 2019/20 campaign, scoring more goals and notching more assists than any other Premier League player. He had a quiet game for England as they beat Croatia 1-0 in their Euro 2020 opener, thanks to Raheem Sterling's second half strike.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the Croatia game, Kane was asked about whether the transfer speculation has affected him so far this summer.

He said: “It’s been ok. I’m sure I’ll get asked about it a lot but my most important thing is trying to win a major tournament with England.

“The rest of the stuff will happen obviously when I get back from the tournament but for now that’s all I’m focused on.

“I’m not someone who listens to the noise anyway, whether it’s good or bad to be honest.

“I try to never get too high or too low. I’m here to give everything for my country.”

Erling Haaland is another marquee striker of interest to both United and City this summer. The Blues' need for a new frontman is arguably more pressing, following the departure of club legend Sergio Aguero.

United have managed to extend Edinson Cavani's stay at the club by an extra 12 months and are also showing interest in Kane's England teammate Jadon Sancho.
