It was some performance from England.
And some display by Harry Kane who scored a hat trick before half time as he looked on a mission to prove any doubters wrong.
His miserable summer of frustration and wretched start to the season was put firmly in the past by a perfect hat-trick: header, left foot and right foot to draw level with Jimmy Greaves on 44 goals for England.
It will only be a matter of time before Kane, at just 28 and so many caps in front of him, becomes England’s leading scorer of all time because he is now just nine behind Wayne Rooney.
Will Kane break Rooney's all-time record? Have your say in the comments section.

This was as good for England and Kane as last month was bad against Hungary when they were held to a draw and the World Cup qualifying campaign suddenly felt rather flat.
Now, the World Cup place is as good as booked after an emphatic, feel good performance at Wembley to set the pulses racing and expectation levels soaring.
Yes, it was only Albania who stunk the place out and were easy pickings for an England team in the mood to answer a few questions and doubts in the best possible fashion.
Gareth Southgate has done so much for England in his five years in charge, leading his nation to the World Cup semi final in 2018 and the Euros final in the summer.
But Southgate cannot seem to shake the accusations that he is too conservative - and yet nights like these should go a long way to prove he is still the best man to lead England to next year’s World Cup and beyond.
This was a big performance, a brilliant first half demolition job and the likes of Kane, Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson all made their point.
Maguire has looked as if he has been playing with the weight of the world on his shoulders at Manchester United but he scored the opener before cupping his hands to his ears to make a point about all the recent criticism.
There was Henderson, back to his absolute best as the Liverpool captain rampaged through midfield with only his second goal in 68 caps but it was perfectly timed to make his point on all too rare start for England.

It leaves them needing just one point from San Marino on Monday to clinch their place in Qatar. You can only imagine Kane will be licking his lips and desperate to play against the Group I whipping boys to get himself even closer to the top of the goal charts.
The rout started after just nine minutes when Maguire opened the floodgates. Reece James was outstanding at right wing back, the Chelsea youngster put over an inch perfect free kick and there was Maguire left completely unmarked to head home.
England’s one moment of self inflicted danger came soon after when Kyle Walker’s back pass let in Myrto Uzuni and yet Jordan Pickford made a super block. But it was soon 2-0. Henderson’s lovely cross headed in by Kane after 18 minutes.
Then they reversed the roles. Henderson played it into Kane, the lay-off was perfect for Henderson to race through and score. What a model pro Henderson is.
Kane got his second and England’s fourth after Raheem Sterling’s lay-off. Kane smashed an unstoppable shot across Albania keeper Thomas Strakosha,
Rampant Kane went close with two more efforts before completing his hat trick with his best goal of the night. Phil Foden’s corner found Kane at the back post and he smashed home a right foot bicycle kick.
It was 5-0 before half time and England were on Easy Street. The second half was a cakewalk. And now all roads lead to Qatar.
