Harry Kane is reportedly open to committing his future to Tottenham Hotspur by penning a new contract at the club.
The England forward has long been linked with an exit from north London, with Man City having pushed hard for his services last summer. He made a late return to training ahead of the 2021/22 campaign in anticipation of a move.
In the end though, Kane ended up staying with Spurs and now looks set to remain with the club for even longer. According to the Evening Standard, the striker is happy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and would be open to signing a new contract with the club.
It is suggested that he is excited by the future under current boss Antonio Conte and is hopeful of lifting a trophy with his current employers in the near future. Talks have not yet been held, with Kane keeping a close eye on talks between Conte and managing director Fabio Paratici.
There is of course no rush to negotiate a new deal, with Kane still having two years remaining on his current deal in north London. The 28-year-old is fresh off the back of another impressive goal-scoring season with 27 goals in all competitions despite a slow start to the campaign so would be in a strong negotiating position.
His form over the final few months of the campaign was a huge reason behind Tottenham beating their north London rivals Arsenal to a Champions League place next term, boss Conte masterminding Spurs’ first return to the top table of European football in three seasons.

Kane himself has been hugely complimentary of the Italian’s impact in north London and has suggested that he hopes that profitable relationship can continue into the future. Speaking with FourFourTwo, he said: “Antonio is a really good manager and I’m really enjoying working with him.
“He just brings a real passion, an energy, a real enthusiasm to training and games, and just makes you want to work. You want to work hard for him, you want to run for him.
“He’s won everywhere he’s gone, so you respect him a lot, and I’m just enjoying it. I’ve worked with some great managers and he’s another one. I feel like my game’s improving under him. Hopefully it continues.”
Whilst Kane’s 2021/22 domestic season is over, the Spurs forward still has work to do this summer. He has been named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming Nations League clashes.
The Three Lions take on Hungary, Germany and Italy throughout June and Kane will be hopeful of moving even closer to becoming the side’s all-time record goalscorer. He currently sits joint-second on the list alongside Bobby Charlton on 49 goals. Man United icon Wayne Rooney is just four goals ahead.
