Harry Kane next club odds as he fails to turn up to Spurs training amid Man City transfer links

Harry Kane was due to return to Tottenham pre-season training today but failed to report to the session, football.london understands.

The 28-year-old was due to return to the club on Monday morning to undertake his precautionary Covid-19 test and do blood work as preparations continue for the upcoming season.

However, Kane - who captained England at the recent Euro 2020 tournament - has not arrived at Hotspur Way.

The news comes after months of speculation over Kane's future at Spurs, with Premier League champions Manchester City reportedly launching a £100million offer for the Tottenham striker at the end of June.

But Spurs, football.london understands, still have the same stance over their star striker - he is not for sale.

It is understood that the 2020/21 Premier League Golden Boot winner has become increasingly frustrated at Tottenham's lack of major honours during his time with the club.

Man City, who are decorated in trophies since Pep Guardiola was appointed manager a few years ago, looks like the most likely destination for the England captain if he is to leave north London.

Leading bookmakers Betfair have priced the Etihad Stadium as clear 8/11 favourites to be Kane's next destination if he is to leave Tottenham.

Then it's Manchester United (11/1), Chelsea (14/1), Paris Saint-Germain (20/1), Real Madrid (40/1), Liverpool (40/1), Barcelona (50/1) and Juventus (50/1).

Kane admitted back in May that he wants to end his career with no regrets, in an honest interview with Gary Neville.

“I think it’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club. I want to be playing in the biggest games. The biggest moments," he said.

“Like, this season I’m there watching the Champions League, watching the English teams in there doing amazing.

“They are the games that I want to be involved in. I want to be in them games.

“So for sure, it’s a moment in my career where I have to kind of reflect and see where I’m at and have a good, honest conversation with the chairman. I hope that we can have that conversation.

“I’m sure that he’ll want to set out the plan of where he sees it but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career in this moment in time.

“I hope we have a good enough relationship. I’ve given the club… well, I’ve been there 16 years of my life.

“So, I hope that we can have a good, honest conversation and see where we are at in that aspect.”
