Harry Kane has failed to show up for Tottenham training this morning as Manchester City continue to pursue a nine-figure deal for the player.
The England captain was expected back at Hotspur Way to begin preparations for the start of Spurs' season - they begin in earnest by facing City at White Hart Lane on August 15.
He was scheduled for a Covid test and other medical assessments but did not show at the Enfield base.
Other Spurs stars due back today, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovanni Lo Celso, who both went deep into the summer international tournaments, were spotted entering, but Kane was not.
City have said nothing about their pursuit of Kane but it is no secret that Kane is their priority target this summer, with Sergio Aguero having left the club last month to join Barcelona on a free transfer.
Reports that City had made a £100million bid for Kane were dismissed by both clubs over a week ago.
City's hunt for Kane went quiet last week as the momentum for the £100million signing of Jack Grealish stepped up - with the Aston Villa man set to tell his club this week whether he wants to leave to head to the Etihad Stadium or not.
But the Blues have not given up hope of landing both men, although to meet the financial fair play rules, it is likely they would have to sell one of their front-line stars, with Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus the two most likely candidates.
City have already started building up the funds for a major assault on the market this summer, seeling Jack Harrison, Ivan Ilic and Lukas Nmecha and bringing in £11million from Jadon Sancho's move to Manchester United.
