Harry Kane 'may not return to training' with Tottenham amid Man City transfer links

Harry Kane may not turn up for Tottenham pre-season training in order to force through a move to Manchester City, latest reports claim.

The England captain led the Three Lions to the Euro 2020 final, scoring five goals en route to a penalty shootout defeat to Italy at Wembley.

Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham after making it clear to the club that he wanted to leave before the end of the season, with Manchester City linked with a £100m move as they look to replace Sergio Aguero.

Reports suggest that Kane has a 'gentleman's agreement' with chairman Daniel Levy about a move this summer but the long-time owner of the club is reluctant to sell and Manchester Evening News understand that the club have privately agreed not to sell him this summer.

This has led to speculation that the 28-year-old may need to force through a move, and The Telegraph are reporting that he may miss pre-season with the club in order to do just that.

They are reporting that his England teammates believe he could go AWOL once his holidays are over as City prepare to try and bring him to the Etihad Stadium.

City are actively pursuing a deal for both Kane and Jack Grealish, with both deals expected to cost around £200m to complete in total.

Kane has never won a trophy at any level during his career but is still regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. Last season he scored 33 goals in 49 games for Spurs last season to win the golden boot and also won the playmaker award for the most assists in the division too.
