Tottenham striker Harry Kane says he is making progress in his recovery from injury.

The England captain suffered a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring during the 1-0 Premier League defeat at Southampton on New Year's Day.

Kane underwent surgery to repair the problem after consulting with specialists and Tottenham said they expected him to return to training in April.

Spurs supporters are likely to be encouraged by the update posted by the 26-year-old on social media on Thursday.

In a short 10-second clip, Kane can be seen on his back in the gym exercising his left leg.

"Working hard. Making progress," he said.

Tottenham have struggled for goals in the absence of their talisman, failing to score in three successive top-flight matches for the first time since November 2013 before a 2-1 win over Norwich.

Jose Mourinho has now eased his search for a new striker to shoulder the burden in Kane's absence following Wednesday's signing of Dutch international winger Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven.
