Harry Kane has admitted that he went to visit Mauricio Pochettino the day after he found out he had been sacked by Tottenham.
The Argentine left Spurs on Tuesday after being sacked by the club, bringing an end to a five-and-a-half year spell in north London after joining from Southampton in 2014.
In that time, he helped to establish Tottenham as regulars in the top four in the Premier League, while he guided Spurs to the Champions League final in June, where they lost 2-0 against Liverpool in Madrid.
But a disappointing start to the new season ultimately led to his departure, with Spurs replacing Pochettino with Jose Mourinho, who took charge for the first time yesterday (Saturday) in a 3-2 win against Tottenham.
Pochettino's departure came as a shock to many fans and pundits alike, and Kane said it was a similar reaction from the players.
“I've been to see him. I went round his house and caught up with him the next day," Kane said after the game , having scored Spurs' third goal at the London Stadium.

“It was a shock for everyone, so I wanted to go and see him and we had a chat for a couple of hours and it was nice to do that before the new manager came in.”
Kane added that it was "quite emotional" for the squad, and that it was important for the players to be able to speak to Pochettino after the news broke.
“It’s been a week I’ve never really had in my career before. It was a big shock on Tuesday night for everyone, the players included," he said.
“Then it was a quick turnaround - all of a sudden we got a new manager, one of the best managers there has been in the game.
"Automatically you have to turn your head towards that and focus on the game."
