Harry Kane left out of Tottenham squad vs Pacos de Ferreira amid Man City interest

Harry Kane is not part of the travelling Tottenham squad to Portugal for their Europa Conference League fixture against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday.

The England striker returned to training with the club on Friday for the first time after returning late from his holidays, as he tries to push through a move to Manchester City in order to win some silverware before he retires.

Spurs are adamant they won't sell their star man and Kane was left out of the squad when they took on City in the opening Premier League game of the season.

Tottenham secured a surprise 1-0 win in the game, thanks to a fine strike by Heung-Min Son.

Kane watched the game at home after being told he wouldn't be involved, but made himself available for Thursday's trip to Portugal. However the decision has been made for the 28-year-old striker to stay in London and continue to work on his fitness, with the hope that he will be available to take on Wolves this weekend.

Spurs will take on Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League qualifier first leg, before Nuno Espirito Santo returns to his former club in the Premier League again on Sunday.

City are keen to sign Kane in a deal that would break their British record £100m fee that they spent on Jack Grealish earlier in this window.

Kane returned late to Spurs training in pre-season after leading England to the Euro 2020 final as captain, scoring four goals en route to a penalty shootout defeat to Italy.
