Harry Kane injury: Tottenham star limps off in Man City Champions League clash

Tottenham have been left to sweat over the fitness of Harry Kane after the England captain was forced off during their Champions League quarter-final first leg clash with Manchester City.

The striker injured his ankle under challenge from Three Lions teammate Fabian Delph, before the hour mark and headed straight down the tunnel unable to carry his own weight.

Kane had been the target of a number of rough challenges by Manchester City, with Nicolas Otamendi and Fernandinho both bringing the World Cup Golden Boot winner down in the first half.

Tottenham's hectic run-in contines with Huddersfield visiting on Saturday afternoon before back-to-back trips to Manchester City, first for the second leg of their European tie before a crunch meeting in the Premier League. They then host Brighton at the new stadium the following Tuesday.

Kane has a history of ankle injuries, having missed eight Spurs games earlier this season due to a problem with the same ankle.
