Harry Kane has a “good chance” to play against Arsenal this weekend despite the Tottenham striker missing training on Wednesday with a mystery injury.

Jose Mourinho will hope the England forward can line up in the north London derby with Spurs entering the weekend top of the Premier League on goal difference ahead of Liverpool.

Kane has 13 goals and 11 assists in just 16 games across all competitions this term, with Mourinho unwilling to divulge what the issue is specifically ahead of the Europa League match against LASK on Thursday.

“I don't believe he [Lamela] has a chance for the weekend," Mourinho said. “Harry [Kane], [Carlos] Vinicius and Sergio  [Reguilon] there is a chance for them to be [fit] for the weekend.

“I'm not going to tell you the nature of his injury. I think there's a good chance [for Sunday], I don't want to lie, I don't want to hide anything in relation to, ‘oh is he going to play or not’. I think he's going to play, that's my feeling.”

Kane has enjoyed a fine record against the Gunners, scoring 10 times in just 11 Premier League meetings, with just two defeats when he's been on the pitch, underlining his importance overall and specifically in the north London derby.

Mourinho also clarified Toby Alderweireld’s condition, with the Belgian defender pushing hard to be involved at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, having picked up a groin injury in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City on 21 November.

"He [Alderweireld] has a chance. Not for tomorrow, not even an option, but in this process of recovering he is doing very well and there's a chance he plays [Sunday]," Mourinho said.

"But Joe played against Chelsea and it was not an easy first match to play. Davinson will play tomorrow too so we have our options. If Toby cannot play we will not cry, and it will be a chance for another one."
