Harry Kane has called on his Tottenham team-mates to learn lessons from last season in the Champions League as they prepare to face Bayern Munich.
Spurs welcome the German giants to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday), with Mauricio Pochettino’s men sitting two points behind their opponents in Group B after a 2-2 draw with Olympiacos in their opening game.
And Kane said Spurs cannot afford to be playing catch up, as they were in the group stage last season after taking just one point from their first three matches last season in the group stage.
“As a team it is important to try and get a win as soon as possible,” he said.
“We know how tough it was last year when we didn’t win for the first few games.
“Especially being at home, we have got to take advantage of that, it will be a great atmosphere.
“It is a big game for us, and hopefully we can perform and get the win.”
Meanwhile, Kane does not feel that Saturday’s hard-fought 2-1 win against Southampton, which came despite being down to ten men for an hour, will prove to be an issue for the Lilywhites.
“That’s football. You can’t control that. We have got a big enough squad to handle it, and we are used to that schedule now.
“Whoever the manager picks on Tuesday, I am sure they will be ready to go.
“That will come around quick. It is about recovery now and that’s a massive game here at home under the lights.
“It is going to be a tough one, obviously we drew our first game, so we want to get a win as soon as possible in this group, and hopefully that comes on Tuesday.
