Harry Kane has already set out his plans for the future amid Chelsea and Man City transfer links

Tottenham Hotspur are facing a battle to keep hold of star man Harry Kane this summer.

The England striker, who has plunged 32 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, is understood to be frustrated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is desperate to start laying his hands on silverware.

Given that Spurs failed to end their 13-year wait for a trophy last month, losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City at Wembley, Kane's desire for trophies has still not been fulfilled at the club, with the speculation over his future intensifying.

However, football.london understands that while Kane is frustrated with what is going on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he has not informed them of his desire to force a move this summer, contrary to reports from Sky Sports News, who claim that Spurs are already on the hunt for a suitable replacement.

But while Kane may not have informed the club of his wishes to leave, he has previously admitted that he does have ambitions to start winning trophies, something that is fully understandable now that he is at the age of 27 and will turn 28 in just over two months time.

Recently, the former Leicester City and Norwich City loanee expressed his desire to start adding team trophies to his CV alongside his range of personal honours.

"Individual awards are great, they are fantastic achievements," he said last month. "When I look back at the end of my career, these are the things I will go over and take in more but the goal right now as a player is to win team trophies.

"I want to be winning the biggest prizes there is to offer and we are not quite doing that.

"It is bittersweet, I would rather be winning team trophies and this one but it is what it is.

"I am proud to win it, it means it's been a good season on the pitch. So I have got to try and continue what I am doing."

Prior to making that statement, Kane, who scored his 22nd Premier League goal of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday afternoon, admitted that he would not stay at the club if progress was not being made.

"I'll always love Spurs, but it's one of those things. I've always said if I don't feel like we're progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I'm not someone to stay there just for the sake of it," he said in March 2020.

"I'm an ambitious player, I want to improve and become better. I want to become a top, top player, so it all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team.

"So, it's not a definite 'I'm going to stay there forever' but it's not a no either."

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have already been credited with interest in signing the England international and are likely to be deemed the frontrunners to land his signature this summer.

However, given Kane's talents and that his valuation likely to exceed £100million, clubs may have difficulties being able to fund such a high-profile transfer because of the current climate and the pandemic having stopped turnstiles from moving, certainly properly, for more than 12 months.
