Harry Kane explains why Tottenham have advantage over Manchester United

The lack of outside distractions could give Tottenham Hotspur the edge over Manchester United in the race for the top four, according to Harry Kane.

In a close battle for fourth place, United currently sit fifth behind Chelsea, but Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United, Spurs and Arsenal all have their eyes on a Champions League spot.

Whilst United have the FA Cup and Europa League to worry about as well when football resumes later this month, Spurs have been knocked out of every cup competition they have taken part in this season.

Kane believes this could be to his side's advantage as they look for a way to overhaul the seven-point gap between them and fourth.

He said: "From our point of view, we're not in any other competitions, so we've got nine games to concentrate on trying to pick up as many points as we can and get into the Champions League spot, so our focus is on one competition."

Kane, whose Spurs side face United on June 19, was speaking at the Paddy Power golf shootout, and he said the sport is something he has put a lot of time into during lockdown.

"I've been playing quite a bit," he said. "I'm a four, so I'm alright.

"We've been finishing training early and not being able to have any lunch or anything so I've been shooting off early, trying to get a few rounds in."
