Harry Kane does not appear on first day back at Tottenham training complex as others return

Harry Kane has not arrived back at Hotspur Way on Monday as expected by Tottenham.

The England captain was set to return to the club on Monday morning to undertake his Covid test and do blood work ahead of the pre-season campaign.

However, Kane has not arrived at the Enfield-based training complex following a recent holiday in the Bahamas.

football.london understands that other players such as Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have already returned to Hotspur Way to join up with Nuno Espirito Santo's squad following their exertions at the Copa America and Euros respectively.

Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer but Tottenham have dug their heels in and are expected to do so even more now.

The Spurs striker signed a six-year deal with the club in 2018 but has indicated a desire to seek a fresh challenge this summer.

Manchester City look set to sign Jack Grealish in a huge deal from Aston Villa but have thus far indicated privately that they are not willing to bid anything near what Tottenham would require to even start negotiations for Kane.

There is a belief within Tottenham that should Kane's stance intensify then it will only strengthen the club's resolve and damage any slim chance of the player getting his move to Manchester.
