Harry Kane calls for 'big finish' from Tottenham after injury that could end his season

Harry Kane has called for a "big finish" from his Tottenham teammates after a picking up an injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Kane twisted his ankle in a challenge with Fabian Delph and was immediately taken off during Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final clash with Manchester City , heading straight down the tunnel for treatment.

It is his third such injury in 13 months with Mauricio Pochettino admitting post-match the striker's season could be over.

Kane has now spoken for the first time since picking up the knock, writing on Instagram: "Gutted to go off injured but every setback is a chance to come back stronger than ever.

"Bit finish from the boys to go on and win."

Kane is expected to undergo a scan on Thursday with the club waiting for the swelling to subside before making a full assessment.

Tottenham lead City 1-0 at the half-way stage of their Champions League quarter-final tie thanks to Heung-min Son's late goal.
