Harry Kane booed as he makes Tottenham squad return amid Man City transfer saga

Harry Kane is part of the Tottenham squad for the first time in the Premier League this season amid Manchester City's interest in the striker.

The England captain is a prime target for Pep Guardiola's side in the hunt for a successor to Sergio Aguero, who joined Barcelona upon the expiration of his contract.

However, City have been unable to thrash out a deal for the experienced forward, with Spurs demanding a record fee for his services.

Having returned to training late, but denying reports he refused to train initially before his return, Kane missed Spurs' victory against City to open the new season.

The forward was not included in the matchday squad for the midweek defeat for the Europa Conference League defeat to Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal.

However, he's now making his return to the Spurs set-up after being named on the bench for the Premier League clash with Wolves at Molineux.

Leaving the coach, Kane was subject to boos and jeers from the Wolves fans that had gathered - with chants of 'City' also being heard.

Tied down on a contract until 2024, the 28-year-old's chances of being allowed to leave Spurs seem slim unless the £150m asking price is met.

That figure would shatter the fee City paid to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, which stands as the highest fee paid by a British club.

Kane scored 23 goals and registered 14 assists for Spurs in the league last year, then scoring seven for England at Euro 2020.
