Harry Kane and Tottenham teammates fly out to Madrid ahead of Champions League final

Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham players have jetted out to Madrid ahead of this weekend's Champions League final.

Spurs take on Liverpool at Wanda Metropolitano as they bid to win their very first European Cup.

Pochettino had been putting his players through their paces at the club's training ground but they will now step up their focus in the Spanish capital.

Spurs' players jetted out of Stansted Airport on Wednesday for Madrid as they posed for photographs on board the team plane.

Talisman Harry Kane was among them as he bids to prove his fitness for the showpiece final, alongside Harry Winks, who has also been struggling with a groin problem.

Tottenham are set to train at Real Madrid's Valdebebas training ground on Thursday and Friday before Liverpool do so in the morning of the match.

The Reds will not travel to Spain until Friday morning as they bid to avoid the same mistakes they made last year.

However the Liverpool Echo report that this time round Klopp wants to prepare for the match in the same way they have for all their other games in Europe this season.

That means they will fly to Madrid on Friday, before taking part in a training session that afternoon in the final's host stadium.

Kane stated earlier this week that he is ready to play in the final.

"I feel good. There have been no problems so far," said Kane.

"I started to feel my way back with the team at the end of last week. This week now is to get the fitness as high as possible.

"Then it's down to the manager. The manager will assess it and decide whether I'm ready to go or not but, so far, I feel good and ready."
