Harry Kane and Son Heung-min react to Tottenham rout of Southampton and make Gareth Bale claim

Tottenham stars Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have reacted to the 5-2 win at Southampton in the Premier League.

Son bagged four goals as Spurs came back from behind, with Kane also finding the back of the net late in the second half.

The impressive win comes on the back of a disappointing loss to Everton last weekend in the Premier League opener.

And it also came on the back of the recent signings of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale, with Kane touching on the victory over Southampton and those aforementioned deals in an interview with BT Sport post-match.

Alasdair Gold on the details of Bale and Reguilon deals

Kane told BT Sport: “We spoke before the game, we knew there was going to be space in behind and we spoke to Sonny about it. One of the passes, I didn’t really look, I just knew he was going to be running in behind.

"It was nice to see him finish it off. I’m proud of him for his first hat-trick and obviously four goals as well.

“It’s great to have Sergio (Reguilon) and Gareth (Bale) with us. We have a lot of games, a busy schedule for the next couple of months, so we’re going to need the whole squad. Everyone knows how good Gareth is, goals and assists.

"We have great competition in that area, I’m sure he’ll be excited to get back out and play for Spurs. Hopefully we can score five in most games and keep up the winning run.”

Son also discussed his flurry of goals for Tottenham and his partnership with Kane.

Son added: “I think we have worked together for five seasons now, so we know what we like and obviously he’s one of the best strikers. Normally, I play the pass and he scores amazing goals. We work so hard to have a good relationship off-the-pitch and on-the-pitch.

“It was really important just before the end of the first-half. We struggled in the first-half a little bit and we didn’t play as well as we wanted, but the equaliser was very important to come back in the second-half strongly. In the second-half, it was a little bit of a shame not to score more than five goals.”
