Harry Kane and Antonio Conte deal Man City blow as young star pays tribute to Sergio Aguero

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the City Is Ours daily digest, your rundown of Manchester City news you may have missed.

Tottenham Hotspur have a new manager, and it could spell the end of City's pursuit of Harry Kane.

A young star paid tribute to Sergio Aguero on Tuesday evening, while City Football Group look set to make their next move.

Time to move on?

City spent a lot of time pursuing Harry Kane over the summer, but as we all know, it all came to nothing. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy refused to negotiate with the Blues and Pep Guardiola didn't get the striker he so dearly wanted.

Kane has made a dismal start to the current Premier League season, scoring just one goal in 10 games, prompting speculation that he might again try and force a move to City next summer.

However, according to Football London's Alasdair Gold, the appointment of Antonio Conte as Spurs manager might convince the England star to stay put.

According to Gold, Kane is thrilled with the appointment of the former Juventus, Chelsea and Inter coach, and is excited to work alongside him. In particular, he is pleased with the ambition Spurs have shown in hiring Conte.

While Kane's current slump is no doubt temporary, many City fans will likely be relieved that he could end up staying at Spurs.

He would still cost north of £100million should City try to sign him and, at 28 years old, there are probably younger, more future-proof strikers that City could move for. His attitude since the summer move he wanted fell through has not been great either. Is this a bullet dodged for City?

Barca starlet makes touching tribute

World football was shocked this week by the concerning health situation of City great Sergio Aguero.

When playing for Barcelona on Saturday, Aguero was substituted after experiencing discomfort in his chest and breathing difficulties. He was later diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia, a heart rhythm disorder, with Barca announcing that the Argentine will be subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process for the next three months.

Footballers and fans from around the world have been sending messages of support to he much-loved striker, but the goal celebration of Barca's Ansu Fati on Tuesday evening was perhaps the most touching.

After the 19-year-old's thumping finish put Barca 1-0 up in their Champions League group game against Dynamo Kyiv, Fati pulled out one of Aguero's trademark celebrations. Raising his hand with his thumb, index finger and little finger outstretched, it was a clear nod to one of the game's greatest ever goal-scorers.

Like Fati, we all wish Kun a speedy recovery.

CFG eye further expansion

The City Football Group already encompasses 10 football clubs around the globe, but that doesn't mean that City bosses are not exploring the possibilities of expanding further.

As reported by The Sun, representatives of the CFG have been in talks with a club they want to add to their portfolio; Russian giants Spartak Moscow.

The CFG are keen on purchasing a 20% stake in Spartak, 22-time winners of the Russian top flight, which would make them the fourth European club in the collective.

Spartak were in the news recently for falling 4-3 to a Patson Daka-inspired Leicester City in the Europa League, but with current owner Leonid Fedun keen to sell, the Moscow club could represent a shrewd investment.

While the CFG is primarily a business venture, the portfolio of clubs does offer City opportunities in terms of player development. The Russian Premier League is a largely untapped source of young talents, so City could benefit from ties with one of the division's leading sides.
