Harry Kane admits he could leave Tottenham amid Manchester United transfer speculation

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has left the door open for a possible exit from the London club amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The England captain has hit 136 goals for Spurs in just under 200 Premier League appearances, establishing himself as one of the most consistent strikers in English football.

However, he is yet to lift a trophy with Spurs after suffering defeat in last season's Champions League final.

Speaking to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp during an Instagram Q&A session, he admitted that he could leave if the team doesn't show the ability to compete.

“I get asked this question a lot, it’s one of them things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no,” he said.

“I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs, but it’s one of them things I’ve always said if I don’t feel like we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I’m not someone to stay there just for the sake of it.

“I’m an ambitious player. I want to become a top, top player, so it all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So, it’s not a definite I’m going to stay there forever but it’s not a no either.”

Kane has struck 11 goals in the Premier League this season but has been sidelined since the turn of the year with a hamstring injury.

He became only the second English player to win the Golden Boot at the World Cup in 2018, joining Gary Lineker in being able to boast a rare record.

United are interested in signing a striker this summer and, although Kane would be an obvious target, the MEN is not aware of any concrete interest United have in him.
