‘Harry is seriously worried’: Apparently, Prince Harry truly fears his brother becoming the king

Prince Harry reportedly fears banishment from his older brother despite recent steps towards bridging the royal rift. Prince William allegedly still holds a grudge against Harry which has left the younger Prince concerned for his place within the firm after his father passes.

King Charles has seemingly been receptive to the idea of bringing his youngest son back into the fold. Earlier this month representatives from both sides met in London to begin efforts to broker peace between the Sussexes and the Windsors. The meeting came a couple of months after Harry publicly expressed his concern for his father’s health during a BBC interview, he also expressed his desire for reconciliation.

That reconciliation is now almost within reach for Harry, but his much anticipated return to the royal family is still a ways off. It might not even happen yet, especially if his brother has anything to say about it.

Harry is worried that William will “banish” him

Royal expert, Tom Bower, believes that Harry is worried that his life as a royal could end with his father’s death. Speaking to the Mirror, Bower claimed that when King Charles dies, Harry is worried that William will be a lot less kind towards him than his father is currently being. In fact, he’s concerned that he will be stripped of all status in the U.K. essentially leaving him as a nobody.

“Harry is seriously worried that when his father dies one day, William will literally banish him and he will have no status in Britain at all. He will be persona non grata.”

This may be a very valid concern for the Duke of Sussex as reports indicate that William and Kate are less eager to reconcile with the Sussexes. The fact they had no representation at the peace talks this month suggests they are skeptical about it. William doesn’t even speak about his younger brother anymore which is apparently down to him being unable to move past his brother’s betrayal.

Accusations made by Harry in his 2023 memoir Spare, along with numerous interviews given by the Prince and his wife Meghan, have given William plenty of reason not to trust or forgive his brother. Even if this royal reunion between Charles and Harry does happen, it doesn’t look like William and Harry will be on good terms anytime soon.

Harry knows that is brother is not as interested in forgiveness which seems to be causing him a great deal of stress. The Duke also expressed concern that William was turning his own friends against him. This tension between the two brothers will leave Harry in a difficult position when Charles does pass away and William takes the throne.

Will a royal reunion even happen?

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Bower points out that it’s still early days, Harry and Charles meeting depends on two things, according to Bower, those things are, “how long Charles lives,” and “how Harry behaves.” These peace talks could fall through before the Prince even gets a foot in the door. In which case it’s unlikely we’ll ever see Harry reconcile with his family, especially if it’s all left up to William.
