Former doctor and telly legend Harry Hill almost returned to his old job to fight the coronavirus on the frontline - 30 years after he retired from his profession.
The 55-year-old comedian was asked to work at London's Nightingale Hospital to help treat coronavirus patients during the pandemic.
But Harry - whose real name is Matthew Keith Hall - had to remind himself he had only been a junior doctor all those years ago, so declined the offer to take on the special role.
He was approached by an NHS official to finalise arrangements, and felt obliged to turn it down due to the lack of experience in his previous role.
"I've got cold sweat dripping down my back, and I said, 'Well, to be honest, I'm in south London so it would be quite difficult for me to get to'," he told Jason Manford on The Weekly Stand Up about the east London-based hospital.
He continued: "I did say to her, 'It was 30 years ago. I was only a junior doctor and my specialisation was general medicine'.
"I'd submitted the form and then I thought, 'Oh Christ. What the hell could I actually do?'"
The former doctor was just 25 and working at Doncaster Royal Infirmary when he decided to quit his role and plunge himself into the comedy industry.
Harry eventually landed his own successful TV shows, such as Channel 4 series Harry Hill and Harry Hill's TV Burp - which ran from 2001 to 2012.
The successful comic is best known for having narrated ITV's You've Been Framed for 16 years, and he went on to create his own movie and the X Factor musical I Can't Sing.
