Harry denies 'what Meghan wants, Meghan gets' comment as he addresses 'tiara-gate'

The long-rumoured claims that Prince Harry told the Queen's dresser "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets" in an argument about her wedding tiara have been denied in the Duke of Sussex's autobiography, Spare. The alleged incident occurred when Harry and Meghan were viewing headpiece options at Buckingham Palace ahead of their wedding in May 2018.

After Meghan picked out one with emeralds and another with aquamarines, the late Queen allegedly told her "tiaras suit you." It was later claimed that when Meghan was informed she could not wear it, Harry reportedly responded: "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets".

The Duke mentioned the incident in Spare, saying the Queen's royal dresser, Angela Kelly, informed him that taking the tiara for an appointment with Meghan's hairdresser "couldn't be done", the Mirror reports.

Page Six, who got hold of a copy of Harry's autobiography after it was accidentally released in Spain on Thursday January 5, said he wrote: “She fixed me with a look that made me shiver. I could read in her face a clear warning. This isn't over."

Prince Harry calls Prince William his "arch nemesis" in his revelatory memoir (PA)

Royal correspondent Robert Jobson claimed in his book that tensions were at a high in the build-up to the couple's nuptials. He wrote in 2018: “The weeks leading up to the wedding had been far more tense for both Harry and Meghan than most people realised.

“In the build-up to the wedding, says an inside source, he was ‘petulant and short-tempered’ with members of staff. Raising his voice on occasion, Harry would insist: ‘What Meghan wants, she gets'."

His memoir also includes details of his love life, drug-taking and rifts within his family. Harry also labelled his brother William his "arch nemesis" in the book, which is due for release in the UK on January 10.

He alleges that he had a physical confrontation with the Prince of Wales, and details how the brothers have "extreme mood swings", with their "volatility" reflecting that of their mother, Diana. It adds how the King found their behaviour unpredictable and was "shocked" at the "level of belligerence" he experienced from his children.
