Harry Brockbank sets personal and collective targets at Bolton Wanderers for League One campaign

Harry Brockbank is targeting nailing down a starting place in the Bolton team next season in League One and wants Wanderers to target promotion back to the Championship next season.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal at Wanderers after helping the club seal automatic promotion back to the thirds tier of English football.

Brockbank came through the club's Academy and made 19 appearances in all competitions for the club last season.

He played across the defence in that time, on both flanks and also in centre of the rearguard.

Of these matches, 14 were in the starting XI and came mostly at the beginning and middle of the campaign, making only three appearances off the bench in the last 20 games of Bolton's League Two campaign.

And the Academy product, who made his debut for the club in April 2019, is targeting more regular starts for Bolton in a campaign where he feels Ian Evatt's side should be looking at the upper reaches of League One and back-to-back promotions for a season hopefully in front of supporters again.

He told the club YouTube channel: "I just want to play football games, that's all I ever want to do, I just love playing football.

"I want to break into the team, play as many games as I can and hopefully play a big part in another promotion push.

"I'm 23 this year so I think my time for being the young lad's gone, so hopefully I can get a few games and help the other young lads out because I know what it's like being the young lad.

"I don't think you can be looking at staying up or mid-table. I think it's important to think 'let's go again, let's get another promotion under our belt'.

"I think that all that was missing last year was the fans. We've missed them so much, so as soon as they're back in, I can't wait for that first game of the season when they're all here."
