Harry Arter sticks up for Nottingham Forest teammate as Barnsley linked with Mario Balotelli

Showing support

Ryan Yates is exactly the type of player Nottingham Forest need in the squad, according to one of his teammates.

The midfielder has been a regular under both Chris Hughton and predecessor Sabri Lamouchi this season, but hasn’t always won favour with some fans on social media.

But the summer signing says there’s no chance of Yates not being appreciated by those who play alongside him.

Balotelli to Barnsley?

Barnsley has not been a happy hunting ground for Nottingham Forest in recent visits.

And Forest fans have given their verdict on where they think the club will finish come May.

Few need any reminders of what happened last term, and the agonising final day collapse against Stoke City.

The Premier League sought “urgent advice” from the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Jonathan Van-Tam in the wake of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis becoming infected with coronavirus, the PA news agency reports.

The league’s executive director Bill Bush emailed Government officials, including Anna Deignan, the head of sport at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) on March 11, two days before the English professional game was suspended due to the pandemic.

The correspondence was included in documents obtained by PA under a Freedom of Information request.

Bush was concerned that top-flight clubs were taking individual advice from local health authorities on how to make themselves Covid-secure and admitted “a lot of wheel reinvention is taking place”.
