Grabban, Worrall & Sow - Nottingham Forest injury latest as Chris Hughton handed big boost

Nottingham Forest have been boosted by the return to training of five players.

Reds boss Chris Hughton confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Friday that he has been handed a major fitness boost ahead of Sunday's game against Swansea City.

Michael Dawson, Lewis Grabban, Samba Sow, Tyler Blackett and Joe Worrall are all back on the grass at the Nigel Doughty Academy in a welcome fillip for Hughton.

It is highly unlikely that any of them will play a part against Swansea, though, with the quintet taking tentative steps back to full fitness.

Nevertheless, it is positive news for Hughton as he looks to kick start Forest's season ahead of a run of four matches against teams in the top six.

Hughton also confirmed that Gaetan Bong and Luke Freeman, who missed the midweek trip to AFC Bournemouth, have not trained.

"Gaetan Bong hasn't trained and neither has Luke Freeman," Hughton said.

"The positive news is that we've had a couple of long-termers in Joe Worrall and Tyler Blackett both train today, obviously they've been out for a little while.

"Samba Sow trained today and we've also had Michael Dawson and Lewis Grabban both train.

"So what we need to do is assess these over a period of time because out of the five I've mentioned, the first two have been out for a longer period of time but it's good to see them on the training pitch have been out for a period of time.

"At the moment it's probably too early and for some a fair bit too early."

Here's the Reds' injury list in full ahead of the Swansea game...

Last season's top scorer missed four games before the international break and is still yet to return from his hip problem but he has returned to training.

The veteran defender is back in training having struggled with a calf strain.
