Lewis Grabban was the toast of the City Ground on Sunday afternoon, when he notched his 18th goal of the campaign against Huddersfield.
In a frustrating first half on Trentside, Forest had to wait until the 43rd minute for their leading striker to volley in at the near post to pit the Reds ahead, courtesy of a fine cross-field ball from defender Joe Worrall.
The opening period promised much when Sammy Ameobi crashed a Joe Lolley effort against the post, but after that, Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds struggled to get going against a resolute Terriers side.
Grabban who hadn’t found the net since the 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough in March powered in his strike, giving Jonas Lössl absolutely no chance in front of more than 1,300 cardboard cut-outs, including Price Harry, Meghan Markle, Stan Collymore, Stuart Pearce and Roy Keane.
Elsewhere, Brice Samba did enough to keep out a tricky free-kick from Alex Pritchard, though despite their possession, Danny Cowley’s Town did little else in front of goal to cause Forest any serious troubles.
A win for the Reds would see them cement their place inside the Championship’s top six, with rivals Bristol City and Derby County to come in the next few days.
