Harry and Meghan will be invited to King's coronation according to secret plans

Meghan and Harry are set to be invited to the King’s coronation, reports suggest. The couple are expected to attend the ceremony on May 6, despite concerns that they may upstage the event.

There’s a “working assumption” among insiders that the couple will be there on the day. Reports suggest that palace officials planning the coronation have no plans to exclude the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the event.

It comes after Prince Harry released his tell-off biography Spare, which revealed a tense relationship between him and his brother Prince William. The couple also released their Netflix documentary last year, which targeted the UK press.

Invitations to the coronation at Westminster Abbey are expected to be delivered this month, with world leaders, politicians and royals among the 2,000 guests. Meghan are Harry are expected to be included on the list.

A source involved in planning the coronation told The Sun: “They will definitely be invited, and we are working on the assumption that they will come.” Although the source added that it will need to be organised appropriately. They said: “It would be helpful if they came earlier though so it's not a total circus on the day.”

The coronation will be marked with a special bank holiday weekend. There will be processions in the capital while Charles will make two appearances on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
