Harry and Meghan 'to mark new chapter in their lives with star-studded bash'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been working up a guest list for an epic party, reports say.

The couple, who stepped back as senior royals in 2020 and confirmed this year that they would not be returning, are living out in sunny California.

And sources say that they plan to mark the new chapter in their lives by throwing a grand event at their Montecito home with a string of A-list pals.

On the reported guest list will be the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama, George and Amal Clooney, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Sources say that the couple - who were recently interviewed by Oprah Winfrey - have been focusing on "the positive things in their lives" as a way of handling the "stress and negativity" of the last 15 months.

"Like everyone else, they've been hugely restricted from seeing their friends as often as they'd like," an insider told heat magazine, "but with lockdown easing in California, they can finally start making plans for the summer.

"Throwing a party will be a big nod to their newfound freedom in the US."

The grand event is in its early stages, the source continued, but the couple are keen for a garden party where guests can mill about and mingle.

And for the décor, their hearts are said to be set on a blend of British and American culture.

All their celeb pals' kids will be welcome too, company for little Archie who turns two in May.

Meghan and Harry are currently expecting their second child at the end of spring.

The couple recently announced their first project with streaming giant Netflix, documentary Heart of Invictus, during which the cameras will follow the athletes as they prepare themselves for the 2022 games.

Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah saw Meghan claim she had experienced racism within the Royal Family.

She also told that she'd struggled with suicidal thoughts, but claimed she had been told she couldn't seek out help for her mental health.
