The topic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is strictly off limits for royals this Christmas as "anything to do with it will end in tears", a royal writer has said.
Journalist Adam Helliker says the topic of the royal couple has "spoiled enough" of the days of the Royal Family so far, and they will try to avoid any conversation about them; as much as possible.
Instead, the Firm will gather together and show a united front while continuing to ignore claims the pair - whose bombshell Netflix docuseries was released in December - have made on the global stage.
Among many claims during the six-part documentary, Harry said brother Prince William had bullied him out of the royal family and King Charles III had lied while the coupple detailed the dramatic lead-up to them sensationally quitting their royal roles for life in America.
Mr Helliker told The Sun : "I think if it's one guarantee you can make, it's that the subject, which will not be raised, is anything to do with Harry and Meghan or Netflix.
"It's spoiled enough of their days so far, especially Charles and Camilla's early days as new King and Queen.
"It's almost a nuclear radioactive subject.
"Anything to do with it is going to end in tears really."
It has been reported that the Royal Family will be carrying out their usual traditions this Christmas as they head back to Sandringham.
And Mr Helliker believes Charles' first ever Christmas speech as King will likely see him reference both his sons, but the monarch will put aside and ignore the awkwardness of the documentary.
He added: "I think [Charles will] make direct references to William and Harry [in his speech] as being part of the united family and they'll be brushing over the kind of awkward facts."
Many in the family believe there is “no way back” into the fold for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their £100million Netflix series.
Prince William was said to be “utterly furious” at their claims of poor treatment and for using clips of their mother’s controversial Panorama interview.
Meanwhile, senior royals reacted with dismay following the release of the docuseries, which was first aired on December 8.
The Royals came together in a joint force of unity this evening, as they try to put the Sussexes claims behind them.
Kate Middleton hosted her Together at Christmas carol concert at London’s Westminster Abbey, which aired on ITV on Christmas Eve.
The special service is this year being dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II as the Royal family spend their first festive season without the late monarch, following her passing in September.
The Princess of Wales was joined by her husband as well as her two oldest children. King Charles III, the Queen Consort and other members of the Firm also attended the service.
In the lead up to the event, Kate paid tribute to the Queen’s "incredible legacy" and thanked her for "bringing us together" in a touching video message.
