Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a meaningful quote about compassion from the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, on the Royal couple’s shared Instagram account.
The quote reads, “I believe that at every level of society - familial, tribal, national and international - the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion.”
The post comes weeks after celebrities defended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they faced backlash for flying privately, with celebrities including Elton John and Pink coming out in support.
John had provided the couple with a private jet to his home to "maintain a high level of much-needed protection" for them and their baby, according to his Instagram post.
The popstar Pink tweeted, "The way people treat her is the most public form of bullying I have seen in a while. It's out of control. Let's all be a bit kinder, huh? Let's show our children that it's cool to be kind."
The quote was shared just two days after Prince Harry’s birthday on September 15, when Markle took to their shared account to post a collage of photos from Prince Harry’s childhood all the way up to the birth of their son, Archie.
She wrote, “Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day. You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton also posted on their shared Instagram account and wished Prince Harry a happy birthday, sharing a photo of the two brothers laughing together.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex along with baby Archie will be travelling to Africa together on September 23 for a ten day tour.
