Harry and Meghan's bond with Oprah Winfrey - and what she could ask in new interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's weekend visit to chat show host Oprah Winfrey has set tongues wagging.

The couple were spotted driving into Oprah's £81million California mansion, which is just a five-minute drive from their own home in Montecito, on Saturday.

Images show Harry driving in the front seat with a woman next to him, believed to be pal actress Janina Gavankar.

Meghan was seen behind them with what appears to be a baby seat next to her, but it is unclear if either Archie or Lilibet were with them.

In March 2021, Oprah's sensational sit-down with the couple made international headlines.

And Harry and Meghan are believed to have been at Oprah's house for about an hour before leaving, sources told DailyMail.com.

So what is the couple's bond with Oprah like - and what could she ask them if they are planning a follow-up interview? Here we take a look...

Bond with Oprah

The first signs of any links between Harry and Meghan and the TV personality came four years ago on Harry and Meghan's wedding day in 2018.

Oprah was a guest at the couple's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor - and joined the other attendees while wearing a powder pink dress with matching hat.

The Times reported that Meghan had only met Oprah once before attending the wedding, which she later described as a "transformative event".

And before Oprah landed her controversial chat with the couple, she also spoke out in defence of them several times.

She said how she was "proud" of them for deciding to not reveal the names of their son Archie's godparents and said she supported them "1,000 per cent" when they quit as working royals.

Bombshell chat

In early 2021, Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah - and nobody could have predicted how explosive it would be.

The highly anticipated interview saw the couple lift the lid on life behind Palace walls and make several shocking allegations about their family.

One of the most shocking lines from Harry and Meghan's bombshell tell-all interview was a claim that Harry had "conversations" within the royal household about how dark son Archie's skin might have been before he was born.

During the interview, Meghan refused to say who the conversations had been with, saying it would be "very damaging to them".

Later in the chat, Harry also said he would never reveal the details of the conversations - although it was later reported the comments were not made by the Queen or the late Duke of Edinburgh.

Elsewhere in the interview, Meghan opened up about her mental health struggles and admitted she had suicidal thoughts during her time in the royal family.

She explained how she "didn't want to be alive anymore" and when asked directly if she was thinking of self-harm and having suicidal thoughts at some stage, Meghan replied "yes".

Meghan also claimed the Duchess of Cambridge made her cry, while Harry said his dad Prince Charles had stopped taking his calls.

New interview?

After spending time at Oprah's house at the weekend, it has sparked rumours that they could be planning a follow-up interview with the host.

Since their last chat, a lot has happened with Harry and Meghan welcoming daughter Lilibet, visiting their royal relatives and attending the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations - so there is lots Oprah could ask about if an interview is in the offing.

She could probe them on what happened when they visited the Queen in April and who Harry talking about when he said he was protecting the Queen.

Oprah could also ask how did they felt reuniting with the royals at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which royals attended Lilibet's birthday party and why they left the UK before the celebrations ended.

And she could also ask Harry to open up about the state of his relationships with Charles, Prince William and his wife Kate.
