The deal to set Harry and Meghan free from the Royal family could have huge ramifications for generations to come.
The Sussexes were adamant they wanted out. They then defied the Queen and threatened the very foundation of the institution, setting upon a path nobody else had wanted.
In truly unprecedented times new rules have been written and this current deal could one day present even further problems for the new slimmed-down monarchy.
The Cambridge’s children – namely Charlotte and Louis – may one day decide it’s not for them too.
They can hold uncle Harry and auntie Meg as the trailblazers who made a go of it in the outside world.
That is, of course, if their version of freedom actually works out – for Harry and Meghan it will be an even sadder state of affairs if it doesn’t.
